Custom orthoses for your hand
At IBACMA we design and manufacture custom orthoses (splints) made by our team of occupational therapists specialized in hand treatment. We use low-temperature thermoplastic materials that are moulded directly onto the patient's hand for a perfect fit.
Types of splints
We produce two main types of splints, depending on the therapeutic goal:
- Passive splints: maintain an immobilised position and/or correct deformities.
- Dynamic splints: facilitate joint movement and support the action of a weakened muscle.
The main functions are to prevent deformities, immobilise or stabilise a joint and promote its function. Splints play an essential role in many hand injury recovery processes.
