Additionally, at IBACMA, we work with specialized Hand Therapists who create custom-made splints using low-temperature thermoplastic materials. These splints play an important role in certain recovery processes following different hand injuries.
Their functions include preventing deformities, immobilizing or stabilizing a joint, and supporting functional recovery. Static splints are designed to maintain a specific immobilization position and/or help correct deformities, while dynamic splints facilitate joint movement and assist the action of weakened muscles.
