Additionally, at IBACMA, we have the collaboration of hand therapists who create custom splints with low-temperature thermoplastic material, very important in certain recovery processes for various hand injuries. The functions of these splints are: preventing deformities, immobilizing or stabilizing a joint to promote its function. Passive splints are made to maintain an immobilization position and/or correct deformities, and dynamic splints facilitate joint movement and the action of a weakened muscle.
